For the most part, web hosting is pretty straight forward. You choose a provider, sign up, upload your website and you’re done. Simple as that. The issues start when you want to move your website over to another provider whilst your site is already live. Not only that, you want to do this with no downtime whatsoever so your site doesn’t suffer.

The easiest way to do such a task is with a cPanel to cPanel transfer. Most web hosts such as inmotion hosting allow you to do this with a few clicks of your mouse. You simply login to your new WHM panel, enter the details of your site and then enter the details of your old server. It’s that simple. The software will then take a copy of your site off your old server and place it onto your new server for you.

Of course that’s not the only way to switch hosts with no downtime. You can also manually download your files, upload them to your new web hosting and when you’ve checked that all is live, simply switch the nameservers to reflect your new web server. This is how most people do it but you need to be careful when you update your site during the changeover process that you’re writing to the correct web server.
